THIS IS REALLY GETTING OUT OF CONTROL: "Starting today (Tuesday), health care providers can start charging the government for the costs of providing medical care to illegal aliens. That's right, you and I will have our earnings confiscated to pay for the health care of people who are in this country illegally. The tab? They say $1 billion over 4 years is being spent. My guess, it will be closer to $5 billion when all is said and done.

And these are just two of the reasons I'm against illegal aliens. Those of you who have read my posts before know that I have no problem with legal immigrants, but I have a serious problem with those who come to this country illegally or come legally and stay past their visas making them illegal. Return to your home country and come back legally and I couldn't be happier to welcome you. And once again, if you think I'm a bigot or a racist because I don't (can't and won't) condone illegal activities, then don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Representative Chris Cannon (R-UT) says: "I don't think there's a place in the Republican Party for racism, for xenophobia, for ideas that are fundamentally un-American."
I totally agree. I don't think there's a place in America for racism, xenophobia (being unduly fearful or contempuous of that which is foreign, especially strangers or foreign people - I had to look it up myself), or for ideas that are fundamentally un-American. But, I don't think that wanting secure borders is any of the above. I also don't think it's wrong to expect everyone to pay for their own medical bills. And what is wrong with expecting people who work in this country, not those who are visiting such as tourists, but those who hold down jobs of any sort to speak our language? Why should government in America be conducted in any other language? I'm all for due process and proper defence and making sure that the defendant is able to participate in their defense. Part of that is making sure they understand the proceedings. Anyone who does not speak English can provide a translator.
We're educating illegal aliens and now we're paying for their health care. I am all for education and I am a firm believer that education is the number one way to keep children from a life of crime. And no, I don't think anyone should be turned away from emergency rooms when they need health care, I just don't think the US taxpayers should bear the entire burden of educating and giving health care to illegal aliens.
Americans are generous to a fault. We want to help everyone succeed. I am proud that people come to this country expecting to make a better life for themselves and their families. But every straw has a breaking point. Unless something is done, our borders and our security is compromised, and our economy is in danger. Our economy can only take so much.
Tax reform will go a long way toward helping the economic side of the problem. But until the borders are secure, our very way of life is in danger. No, I don't think it's un-American, racist, or xenophobic to believe that our laws should be obeyed. In fact, I think every one who enters any country should obey the rules of that country.
And if you can't obey the rules of the land you are living and working in, you have no respect for that country. Shame on you.
