Gore Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Former Vice-President Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to eliminate global warming. He joined such illuminaries as former President Jimmy Carter, Yasser Arafat, the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (twice), the United Nations, Kofi Anan, and the Permanent International Peace Bureau. Yeah, they all succeeded, didn't they?

Look, I belive in improving the world. I'd love to see peace break out all over the world. Landmines? As long as there are nations at war, landmines will be part of it.

I completely agree with the theory that we need to reduce our carbon footprint by reducing carbon emitting vehicles for one. But, Detroit has a powerful lobby. As long as consumers want gas-guzzlers Detroit will supply them. Detroit has no interest in developing engines that will use less gasoline, or even use other sources of energy. They are hand-in-hand with the oil companies.

By the way, Mr. Gore could show leadership by driving vehicles that are better for the environment. His primary home could be more energy efficient also. Did you know his house uses 20 times the energy of the average house? Read about it here.

There have been 115 winners since 1901. How many can you name?
